I love writing sales copy for the people I work with.
They have some great ideas for new products and solutions that make a massive difference to peoples’ lives.
So, I get a kick out of writing a sales letter that gets people to take action and buy a product that gives them so much more value in return.
Here are some tricks I use to make sure my sales pitches are as powerful as they can be.
1) Call out your market
What does this mean?
It means being specific in order to ensure the people you want to sell to are the ones that are hearing your message.
When you do this, people who are not your ideal targets simply leave the page and that’s totally fine.
All you care about is that the right market is listening.
2) Don’t sell the feature, sell the benefit
It’s so easy to fall into the trap of selling features.
This product can do X, Y and Z.
I’m always particularly careful of this.
Remember, what turns the specific market you’re writing for on.
With financial copy, it’s going to be wealth and financial freedom.
With health & fitness copy, it’s going to be health and longevity.
Keep asking yourself how people are going to benefit from your product.
And position the benefits to reflect your features.
I call this, “features with benefits”.
3) Supercharged subheads
I personally like to create all the elements of a good headline or as many as possible in each subhead.
Ensure you give your prospects a good reason to read each one.
Remember that people skim through.
Which means that beefing up your subheads will drive eyes back into the copy again.
